I have read several books in The Bare Bones and Bent Zealots series and I have become a real fan of Ms. Wolfe’s writing style. This book is no exception. The way she incorporates the often difficult subject of religion into an erotic MC story is perfection. Each page I read kept me wanting more. I had to know what happened next? Where would this wild ride on Gideon’s pussy pad take me?

Gideon Fortunati of the Assassins of Youth MC rides into town controlled by Allred Lee Childs, the prophet of the Cornucopia Clan, practicing polygamists, mine owners, murderers, gamblers and gun runners. Gideon is doing penitence by being sent to nowhere Utah for stepping in on his President's Old Lady. Another castoff, Breakiron, the VP who caused problems is there to help but the psycho he is just stirs up chaos. Gideon meets Mahalia, one of Childs many wives, and they begin a forbidden lust/love relationship in the midst of crazy religious views and illegal activities. Throw in Bronson Carradine, an ATF agent, looking to bring down the Morbots, young girls getting married off to old creepy men, all sorts of sister wives looking to leave the Order with their children, Dingo, a lost boy from the polyg community, turned Prospect for Gideon an several other characters this book reads fast and furious. This is not your typical MC read by the sheer fact the polygamist community and their off the wall beliefs need to be worked around by Gideon, awesome quotes by Kurt Vonnegut to explain life, and the entire scene of preexistence and the afterlife but dead bodies, blackmail and hot sex are included! I can't wait to see what else is in store for this new crew.

This is book #1 and Wow your taken into a world that not a lot of people truly understand or want to understand.

Gideon was sent away from his club and boy he wasn't happy... Nope.
But as he's there to set things up and comes across Allred wow things are so not right with him, ( he had my fine hairs rising *Shivers*
When Gideon meets one of the wives there's this hope that takes grasp and you feel the whole book tilter.
Mahalia Warrior, She's like this compressed air that just needs to breath and feel the freedom again.
She's a true warrior she has to fight and once she sees Gideon the word Hope is re-lite
She has to dig deep to help her daughter.

This book was a gritty read and I loved every step I took through this book page after page your drawn in and love the duel POV it's written and done in such a way that not full details are given but your mind is there and can picture the scenes.
Once I started I sat up late in bed with my kindle nightlight going and a coffee I just couldn't pull myself away from this world is so fascinating and I loved Gid & Ma D

A fantastic start and I recommend this book and go in with a clear mind your enjoy it.

Through A Glass, Darkly is a well balanced read with plenty of content. No boring parts and flows smoothly for a fast easy read. It touches on some sensitive subjects with taste and tact. It is full of plot twist and alot of surprises. I love Layla Wolfe books but this one I did not connect with the characters, probably more me than the storyline. I love the way she always thinks outside the box and can't wait to see where she takes this series. I received an arc in exchange for a honest review.
Well done story about an outlaw biker club member who falls in love with the 40th wife of a fundamentalist Mormon sect leader. As Gideon attempts to free Mahalia and her daughter from clutches there is potential for real violence. An easy read that gave insight into what happens to women in these polygamous unions and moreover the some of the young men who are banished from the sect when they reach their teens. This is the first book in a series but is a complete story on it's own. I recommend this one.
I just want to say that I love Layla Wolfe's spin on this MC book. This is the first book I have read by this author, but it definitely won't be the last. The heroine of this book is Mahalie and she is the 40th wife of Allred Lee Chiles, a Mormon leader. The hero of this book is Gideon. He is exiled to Cornucopia because he was caught messing around with Chelsea, the MC Prez's old lady. Papa Ewey sent Tim Breakiron, his Veep, with him. What did he do to get exiled? It's revealed, if you read this book. Go on and one click, you know you want to. Although this is a love story, there's a whole other aspect to this book. I recommend reading this book to everyone, so you can enjoy the twists and turns like I did. I don't won't to give anything away, but you will definitely love Mahalia and Gideon.
